The Story Behind the Toolkit

After 20 Years on Alberta Jobsites, I Built What Every Business Needed.

“The same gaps kept appearing. So I built the tools that close them.”

For over two decades I showed up on jobsites across Alberta — construction, oil & gas, industrial — helping companies get COR and SECOR certified, stay compliant, and keep their workers safe. As a Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and certified COR auditor with AASP and Energy Safety Canada, I’ve guided hundreds of businesses through audits without a single failure.

I’ve turned that experience into a complete toolkit — instantly downloadable programs, done-for-you forms, online training, and unbiased software guidance. Everything your business needs, without the ongoing consulting fees.

Common Questions

Alberta Safety — Answered

Straight answers from a CRSP auditor with 20+ years of field experience across Alberta.

What is COR certification in Alberta?+

COR (Certificate of Recognition) is an Alberta health and safety certification that verifies a company has a complete and effective safety management system. Certified with AASP and Energy Safety Canada, COR companies qualify for WCB premium refunds and are preferred by general contractors on large projects.

What is the difference between COR and SECOR?+

SECOR is for Alberta employers with fewer than 11 employees at peak times. COR is for larger employers. Both require a documented health and safety management system and a formal audit. SECOR is simpler, less costly, and ideal for small contractors, trades, and service companies.

What online safety training is required in Alberta?+

Alberta employers must provide WHMIS training and Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention training. COR companies also require JHSC training, inspection training, hazard identification, and incident investigation training. All available in our Online Training section with instant certificates.

Which safety app is best for Alberta contractors?+

For small contractors (1–20 workers), Site App Pro offers the best value. For growing COR companies (20–200 workers), SiteDocs is the strongest choice. For large organizations with heavy training needs, BISTrainer is the most comprehensive Canadian platform. See our full comparison in the Safety Software section.

How long does COR certification take in Alberta?+

With a complete safety program already in place, most companies achieve COR certification within 3 to 6 months. Starting from scratch typically takes 6 to 12 months. Our done-for-you products significantly reduce this timeline.

Do I need a consultant to get COR certified?+

Not necessarily. Many companies self-implement using our downloadable programs and templates. Our products are designed for self-implementation — you can achieve COR or SECOR certification without ongoing consulting fees. Guided support is also available.
